Rob Howard, Scott Guthrie: Liars, Thieves, Bullies! (short version)

I refuse to deal with Microsoft in any way till they repay the $112,000 (plus interest) direct promise made by their employees

Rob Howard (Scott's Right hand man, always the person Scott sends you to implement Scott's commitements, who now left MicroSoft to form Telligent Systems)

who both promised me $112,000 and demanded I accept that funding over my objections -- directly in unequivocal exact terms, and another $80,000 indirectly. Scott Guthrie & Rob Howard used Microsoft's good reputation among developers to claim I could always trust them to keep their commitments; they for 18 months claimed their lateness was just beuracracy and they would keep the promises imminently and I should continue doing many things they asked and expect all the promised money and more in next few weeks.

Scott and Rob's dishonest actions tarnishes the reputations of all honest MS employees when they defaulted on that trust.

They compounded their mistake when they 2 years after the promise flat out lied to boss David Treadwell that he and Scott ever directly promised $112,000 or made the other $80,000 of indirect promises... Others in ASP.net community have been over-promised on smaller scale (in very specific terms and $$$ amounts) and under-delivered by Scott Guthrie and Rob Howard, but they are afraid to complain to either Scott or the team - they know punishment follows. If they complain their MicroSoft access and MSDN/ASP.net/GetDotNet links to their site will be few and brief and always at bottom of list, while those who don't complain get huge and frequent prominent links and none of the promised amounts while others are gifted the money promised to that community member and more and budgets fall short to keep all the promises Scott and Rob make.
