Anyone have any experience using the new JOLT direct Jet interface for ADO? I read about it in VB Advisor (I think) and the results they printed show that it is like 80% faster than using ADO->ODBC. Just curious if anyone has used this, and if anyone knows if there are plans to implement a similar OLE-DB direct provider for SQL Server.

Ed,

Answering the second part of your question - Yes there are plans to introduce similar providers for SQL Server (and also Oracle).

I haven't tried any of them but if others are interested they are installed with the preview of VI6 (verified) and I believe also with the J++ beta (not verified). NB it is important to note that at this time they are in Beta

I would expect these providers to be faster simply because they will bypass the additional ODBC layer.

regards, Steve
