Setting Up Your Own Server. The Most Basic Issues?


       

If you have never setup your own server here are the basic issues. If you are an experienced server administrator on other platforms or on low-volume sites you may find some pointers here.

Server Setup 101:

  1. A webserver should be dedicated to that. The NT webserver should not ALSO have SQLserver, Exchange or any high-resource application running on it.
  2. 512 megabytes or better is a minimum.
